In the essay category at the Magazine Awards, Larissa Diakiw is nominated for her meditative piece on eco-grief, "The World We're Losing." She's also nominated in the Best Personal Essay category for the same piece at the Digital Publishing Awards.
Also in the essay category at the Magazine Awards, Raksha Vasudevan is nominated for her piece on the surreal nature of secondhand trauma, "Signs of Life." She's also nominated in the Best Personal Essay category for the same piece at the Digital Publishing Awards.
In the illustration category at the Magazine Awards, Winnie Truong is nominated for her rendering of Central Park, which accompanies Darryn King's piece "Central Park During the Pandemic."
And finally, we have two pieces nominated in the Best Arts and Culture Storytelling category at the Digital Publishing Awards: Matthew Braga's exploration of musical renderings of underwater life, "What Does the Sea Sound Like?," and Alex Manley's deep dive into an elusive graffiti artist, "If You're Reading This, It's Jim Joe."
