Amy Bernhard's essays have appeared in The Rumpus, Catapult, VICE, Ninth Letter, and Vol. 1 Brooklyn, among others. She holds an MFA from The University of Iowa and currently she lives in Dallas, Texas, where she is a professor of creative writing at The University of Texas--Arlington. She is writing a book about the prison town of Huntsville, Texas.
