Derek Coulombe is based in Toronto where he writes about artworks, speculative forms of physicality, and relationships between materiality, bodies, and critical disability. In the summer of 2022, he carried out a short-term fellowship with the Warburg Institute (London) where he wrote an experimental work about Herakles. In 2022-2023 he was the Chester Dale Interdisciplinary Fellow at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York). His first book, BODYBUILDER was published by Hildegard Press in 2024. Presently, he is working on a fabulist-body-horror autobiography loosely based on his childhood.
